I visited this really interesting exhibition by Eva Kotátková at The Museum of Modern Art Oxford today!
Part performance art and part installation this piece explores our daily struggles, difficulties and restrictions. Particularly focused on leaning and language and the confines that inhibit our true potential. For me that was school.
The room appears to contain a rather sinister looking playground with metal contraptions that resemble climbing apparatus but could also be cages, restraint or even torture equipment.
A choreographed performance artist moves around the space, and we see the frustrations from the confinement of the space.
For me that was school and so this piece felt quite poignant for me, having found school very frustrating and limiting.
